Dolphin Tour

The warm waters off the southern coast of Zanzibar, particularly around Kizimkazi,
are home to resident pods of bottlenose and Indo Pacific humpback dolphins.

A dolphin tour takes you out by traditional boat into the open Indian Ocean in the early morning,
when the sea is calm and the dolphins are most active.

The Experience

As your skipper scans the water for movement, you may encounter pods of twenty or more dolphins swimming,
playing, and feeding in their natural habitat.

On calm days, you may have the opportunity to slip into the water and snorkel alongside them
an experience that is both gentle and exhilarating.

Best Time to Go

The experience is best between June and February, when sea conditions are generally calmer.

Dolphin sightings are possible year round.

Responsible Tourism

It is important to choose operators who respect marine life. Responsible tours maintain a safe distance from dolphins
and limit time in the water to avoid causing stress.

We work with experienced local operators who prioritise conservation while ensuring a meaningful guest experience.
