Morning: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet your private guide. Afternoon: Transfer to Arusha and check in. Evening: Dinner and an early night before flying into the park.

Flight
Scheduled flight
Morning: Breakfast, then the scheduled flight from Arusha to the central Serengeti. Afternoon: Met at the airstrip, hot lunch and time to settle in. Evening: Afternoon game drive through the Seronera valley.

Central Serengeti → Ndutu
Road
Morning: A half day in the central Serengeti while the morning is cool. Afternoon: Continue south to Ndutu, the grass shortening as you go and the first outriders of the migration appearing. Hot lunch on arrival. Evening: Evening game drive among the herds.
Where you'll stay
Morning: The reason for the timing. Thousands of calves are dropped on the short grass plains in a single day. Afternoon: Where there are calves there are predators: lion, cheetah and hyena work the edges of the herds. Evening: Return to camp after sundowners on the plains.

Morning: The herds move, and so do you. A second day gives freedom to work the lakes and the marsh. Afternoon: Time to stay with a sighting rather than leave it, which is what these two days buy you. Evening: Dinner under canvas.

Morning: Leave Ndutu after breakfast and climb into the Ngorongoro highlands. Afternoon: A full game drive on the crater floor, dense with game and walled on every side. Evening: Out in the late afternoon and on to your lodge.
