The Overview

The Rongai Route Kilimanjaro climb is the only trail that approaches Africa’s tallest peak from the north near the Kenyan border, offering a quiet and scenic trek away from the crowds. This 8 day Mount Kilimanjaro Rongai Route itinerary is ideal for those seeking a gradual ascent, excellent acclimatization, and diverse landscapes from lush rainforest to alpine desert and glacier capped peaks. With a high summit success rate, the Rongai Route is especially well suited for trekkers new to high altitude or those who want a less traveled path to Uhuru Peak.
